In 2001, Dr. Hollis Scarborough, a literacy expert, created what is now known as “Scarborough’s Reading Rope,” which conveys how the different “strands” of reading are all interconnected yet independent of one another. In this workshop, participants will have the opportunity to attain a better understanding of how to plan and deliver comprehensive reading instruction through an in-depth exploration of the reading rope. This workshop will feature videos of teachers engaged in teaching all strands of the Reading Rope model.
This workshop is appropriate for classroom teachers, reading specialists, literacy coaches, administrators, supervisors, special education teachers, and any other professional who is involved in the teaching of reading.
Note: The two sessions offer the same content at different times. Please do not register for both.
