Guided Discipline for Middle and High School Classrooms

Home E Events E Guided Discipline for Middle and High School Classrooms

This virtual professional learning series equips teachers to

  1. Organize classrooms to create optimal conditions for learning
  2. Implement a preventive, problem solving and restorative approach to discipline
  3. Respond to a wider array of student behavior
  4. Invite cooperation and de-fuse conflicts
  5. Provide targeted behavioral supports and interventions
  6. De-personalize challenging behaviors

Guided Discipline, an Engaging Schools approach, empowers teachers to create safe, orderly, and engaging classrooms that foster the conditions for students to become more skillful, and create a sense of belonging and commitment to a community of learners.

Teachers will walk away equipped with promotion and prevention strategies that support students to reset and re-engage in learning when they get off-track. The approach and strategies will contribute to decreases in missed instructional time, disproportional application of discipline, and recidivism in behavior concerns.
