This community is designed to connect team leaders from different districts both during our virtual meetings and as partners between meeting times via email. The outcomes that you'll experience as a participant are the opportunity to share your problems of practice, the opportunity to help others by providing resources and ideas from your district, and the opportunity to get information about current priorities and best practices for IEP and 504 team leaders in Massachusetts.
The Educational Team Leader Community of Practice will meet via Zoom once each month for 1 hour and 45 minutes. If you attend all 9 sessions and log your attendance, you can receive 15 PDPs in Special Education for your participation in each community of practice. We will prioritize sharing problems of practice–so please come prepared to discuss (confidentially) any current situations you're facing or questions about leading teams in ways that are compliant and collaborative. Our communities of practice are really about offering you a space to gather with each other and share your expertise as practitioners.
We will have a regular routine for our sessions that will include the following:
- Welcome and review of agenda (10 minutes)
- Sharing problems of practice. (50 minutes)
- State / federal / research updates for team leaders (15 minutes)
- Q&A about the topic for the mini-training (15 minutes)
- Leading teams micro lesson (15 minutes)
- Close with gratitude & feedback (15 minutes)
