Naiomi Robles is the Manager of Culturally Responsive Education for Holyoke Public Schools. In her role, she serves as the district coach for Holyoke Ethnic Studies teachers, writes curriculum, and facilitates professional development. Her work focuses on topics such as dismantling ableism in schools and addressing race and equity within school systems. A proud alumna of Holyoke Public Schools and Holyoke Community College, Naiomi is also nearing graduation from Mount Holyoke College with a concentration in Critical Race Theory and Political Economy and a minor in Latinx Studies.
With a deep commitment to her community, Naiomi has been a community organizer in Holyoke since she was fifteen. Her experience spans non-profit work and currently, she serves as the Coordinator of Holyoke Bound for the Five College Consortium. Her career in education began as a classroom paraprofessional, followed by roles in Special Education, leading to her current position as Manager of Culturally Responsive Education.
Naiomi’s passion for Ethnic Studies is deeply rooted in her lived experiences and the transformative impact she has witnessed in the lives of the students she serves. She believes that the journey towards liberation requires access to an education that is reflective, responsible, and responsive to students' needs, identities, and their communities.
