Jill Flanders served as Principal at Plains Elementary in South Hadley and Hadley Elementary for a total of 27 years. Prior to that, she taught 2nd, 3rd, and 4th grades at Goshen Center School. During her years at Plains School, with the expert guidance of her amazing faculty and staff, she became a passionate advocate for Early Childhood Education, and served on advisory board for the MA Department of Early Education and Care, and with the Early Learning Team with DESE. She was elected to the National Assoc Of Elementary School Principals Board of Directors, and was the MA Principal of the Year in 2010. Although “retired” now, Jill is working with the Center for Educational Improvement, and co-authoring a forthcoming book on mindfulness, antiracism, and early childhood strategies.
