Herb Braselman served as the first president of the National Association of Media and Technology Centers (NAMTC), and was a mentor to many of its members. NAMTCis the only organization in the United States that is focused on instructional technology and professional development resources and leadership at the regional Educational Service Agency (ESAs) Level. Upon Braselman’s retirement the Herb Baselman Award was established in recognition of exemplary service and leadership for regional media centers and for outstanding contributions to the field of educational media and technology.
Angela Burke, Director of Professional Services at the Collaborative for Educational Services (CES), is receiving the Braselman award for serving as NAMTC President, her service on the organization’s Board, and for her continued service to the organization and its members through Shared Conversations, planning committees, etc, and of course her efforts as a ISTE Educator to your schools and other ESAs.
Said Angela, “My work with NAMTC has been extremely rewarding. I have made lasting connections with colleagues across the country, as well as our vendor sponsors. We have done national advocacy work for rural internet connectivity, which is an issue that is very important to me. I am honored to have been chosen as this year’s Brazelman recipient.”
Angela has been with CES since 2013, first as Director of Technology, and then as Director of Professional Services. Prior to that, she was the Director of Technology at Gateway Regional School District. She holds an M.Ed. from the University of Massachusetts, and she is an ISTE certified educator.
