NORTHAMPTON, MA – The Board of Governors at the Collaborative for Educational Services (CES) in Northampton honored departing Chair Lisa Minnick last night, at their June 24th meeting.
Chairwoman Minnick was honored for her contributions to the growth of CES over her 22 year tenure on the Board; and for her steady, thoughtful, and engaged leadership as the Board Chair for the past 13 years. She has been a part of the growth of CES from a tiny organization to a nonprofit educational services agency that supports the work educators and children in the Massachusetts K-12 school system statewide.
Ms. Minnick will be stepping down from the Northampton school board by the end of 2015. She will remain a member of the CES Board until then, but will be succeeded by a new Chair in a September election. Minnick stated that she considers her own work on the Board “a privilege, to be able to watch people who are so passionate about what they do – make a difference in a child’s life.”
